About EKT Calculators

EKT Calculators is a free, no-login calculator platform built to provide accurate, well-explained answers to financial, mathematical, engineering, and everyday questions. The site is built and maintained by a Chemical Engineering student at IIT Jodhpur.

Why accuracy first?

Many online calculators produce wrong results — either because they use floating-point arithmetic for money (which accumulates rounding errors), or because they implement simplified versions of formulas without stating the assumptions. Every calculator on this site uses exact decimal arithmetic for money and interest, states its assumptions explicitly, and cites the source for every test case.

Engineering & science calculators

The engineering section is where genuine domain expertise matters. Reynolds number, Antoine equation, heat transfer correlations, and similar tools require correct handling of units, validity ranges, and physical interpretation — things that generic calculator sites frequently get wrong. Every engineering calculator on this site names the correlation it implements, states its valid range, and warns when your inputs leave that range.

Indian finance focus

Tax slabs, HRA exemption, EPF/NPS/PPF rules, and CGPA conversion formulas are all India-specific and change regularly. This site implements them from official sources (Finance Acts, EPFO circulars, UGC guidelines) and publishes a “Last reviewed” date on every YMYL page so you can judge how current the information is.

Methodology & sources

Every calculator page includes a Formula section with variable definitions, a Worked Example with real numbers, and a FAQ drawn from questions people actually ask. Test fixtures — the internal checks that verify each calculator against a known-good reference — cite their sources (bank EMI tables, textbook worked examples, official tax computation sheets).
