Discount Calculator

Enter the original price and discount percentage to find the final price and how much you save.

How it works

The discount amount equals the original price multiplied by the discount rate. Subtracting that from the original price gives the final price you pay.

Formula

Final Price = P × (1 − d/100)

Multiply the original price by the fraction remaining after the discount.

Worked example

₹2,499 jacket at 30% off

Original price:
₹2,499
Discount:
30%

Discount amount = 2499 × 0.30 = ₹749.70. Final price = 2499 − 749.70 = ₹1,749.30.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate 20% off?

Multiply the original price by 0.20 to get the discount amount, then subtract from the original. Or multiply by 0.80 to get the final price directly.

What about additional discounts (cashback, coupon)?

Stack discounts carefully — a 20% off followed by 10% off is NOT 30% off. The second discount applies to the already-discounted price: 20% then 10% = 28% total discount.

How do I reverse-calculate the original price from a sale price?

Original price = Sale price ÷ (1 − discount/100). So if a ₹800 item is sold after 20% off, the original was 800 ÷ 0.80 = ₹1,000.
